Having been on this crazy journey for less than 6 weeks, I've already gathered some tricks or the trade and am anxious to find about more ways to make the diet easier to live with. Here are some of my favorite ways to "cheat" without cheating. And speaking of cheating, I got a cheat meal and it tasted GOOD! Crunchy peanut butter. I eat up to two tablespoons a day and for some reason crunchy seems more substantial. Strange, I know. Protein shakes...the colder the better. Ice, blending with ice and super cold water (no milk for me) makes them taster way better! Ground turkey. Maybe this is no shocker to the rest of the world, but I've never eaten it before. Having a turkey burger is a different taste and after eating the same thing for nearly 6 weeks, different is good. (Seasoned with Mrs. Dash and onion) Egg whites. The Egg Beater egg whites taste better to me than actual egg whites. Hmmm.....
And while I haven't tried it yet, when Fall hits I'm looking forward to a Pumpkin Spice protein shake. Funny, I never would have thought that previous sentence would be written by me in a million years.

I can leave a comment! WOO!
ReplyDeleteUhm. I am trying to think how I do it, but you know my meals are less strict than yours. I put hot sauce on A LOT and mustard too. I don't think I need to take them out until a lot later. I don't like my shakes blended. LMAO! I do use non fat milk, which makes them yummier than water. One thing that I loved to make was my version of deviled eggs. Sounds evil, eh? But I would hard boil 3 eggs - remove the yolks of two of them. (Sad). Dice them up, add chopped black olives, mustard and hotsauce. It was very yummy.

DeleteThanks for the tips. I almost forgot that I got the OK for Honey Mustard. YUM. (And I hate mustard...see how desperate?)
ReplyDeleteLove the new look of your page. I would like to know how to change mine? When I do everything goes crazy. I know you're thrilled about being able to add variety to your diet. Mine just became more strict. I am ten weeks out now. I essentially eat no carbs. I am worried I won't be ready. Getting nervous. I like to season my turkey burgers with taco seasoning for a kick. BAM!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I pay a designer, but I started with my other site searching for "free blog templates" and then following the directions. I used http://www.giselejaquenod.com.ar/blog/blogger-templates/ who has great free templates (and now designs my sites).
ReplyDeleteTaco seasoning...great idea!! Thanks!!
It's allowing me to post :)
ReplyDeleteGarlic is another favorite of mine to add to egg whites.
It's kinda like bubba gump shrimp - there's about 1000 ways to make it, but it takes time to figure out what you can add into it.
Broccoli also give it a little more texture, as well as diced tomatoes, oatmeal if you get really desperate.
