So I have a goal date and am so excited! My 1st Figure competition will be in the INBF Northern States Super Natural in Buffalo, NY next March. Having a goal was what started me on this journey in the first place, so I am pumped about knowing when the suffering...I mean, training...will end. This is just the mental boost I needed after a long week filled with hunger and workout which seemed endless and quite boring. It's been nearly 10 weeks since training began, and while I'm not hitting the heavy weight yet, I'm looking forward to a change. Elliptical, tuna, chicken and green beans since July 8th. Blah.
So this coming week I will try to mix it up. Adding back turkey burger for some variety in the diet, and maybe the treadmill a bit, though I'd much prefer to run outdoors than in, but 5:00 a.m. workouts and running outside don't mix. Any other tips on how to "shake it up"?

I like to switch it up and do workout videos. A few years ago I bought a step and step aerobics video and began using them again because the stationary bike was getting old. Step aerobics is great cardio and is a great workout for legs too. I also began doing plyometrics which in a short amount of time gives you a great muscle building and cardio workout. See Jamie Eason's website for a workout or just search the net. When I am at the gym I like to switch machines, spend 10 minutes on one, 15 on another. You could also jump rope which will really get your heart rate going. Hope these ideas help!
:woohoo: Having that date must really help! I really can't wait to see how you and Dana do before I try it myself! I will try to absorb all your tips!
Cissy, Great job! You look awesome! Best of luck! You have amazing determination!
There's lots of ways to shake up a stale workout. When I was bodybuilding I actually took a semester of BALLET at community college. You can join a karate class at every dojo who offers a free class, trust me it's a good workout. The ballet helped me get SO cut AND helped my posing. In the old days before there were 32,000 different types of exercize, we would grab a diff workout partner (mine were all men) and do THEIR workout for a few days. You can do this. Plateaus are normal, so is workout fatigue. Shake it up, do something totally different to relieve monotony!
